Endorsement of Indian Leadership and Dr. Madavaraj by Dr. Roy B. Zuck of DTS:
I enthusiastically endorse the ministries of "Indian Leadership" which is involved in training and equipping the Pastors and the future leaders of the Church in India, Nepal, and other South Asian countries. Indian Leadership ministries uses the ten course curriculum produced by the Bible Training Center for Pastors (BTCP).
One of the world's greatest needs is for adequately trained pastors. In most countries pastors do not have opportunity to attend a resident Bible school. So their knowledge of the Bible and theology is limited. And this affects their church ministries adversely. The ministry provides a much needed answer to this problem. The ten courses in this program enable pastors and other church leaders to study the Scriptures, theology, and aspects of ministry in brief modules without having to relocate to a formal educational institution. The courses are uniquely designed to enable students to know the Scriptures well, to think theologically, to grow spiritually, to witness effectively, and to enhance their preaching and other ministry skills.
I am also pleased to commend Rev. Dr. Samuel Madavaraj who heads the "Indian Leadership" ministries. I have known Samuel and his wife Julie since 1991 as their professor in Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas, TX. Both of them are persons of high morals, integrity and diligent students of the Word. I wish them success in all their endeavor for the cause of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Roy B. Zuck, Senior Professor of Bible Exposition Emeritus, Dallas Theological Seminary, & Editor, Bibliotheca Sacra

India today is one of the two emerging Asian Powers with over a Billion People, a sizzling Technology Industry, a growing Middle Class and the largest Democracy in the world! However, it is also a Hindu culture mired in the Caste System that degrades millions of people.
The Need: The church is growing exponentially in India and the subcontinent. But, there are virtually no pastors to lead them or the pastors are not trained. Very little Christian literature is even available in these languages even though there are millions of speakers.
The Answer: Local, affordable, flexible, comprehensive Bible training in their own language and Culture. Indian Leadership has over 2200 students studying in 135 locations in their own language taught by a local teacher. Over 5590 students have graduated through June 2007.
The Curriculum: The 10-course, 520-hour curriculum covers the basics of a Bible College education in their own language.
The 10 courses are:| 1. Bible Study Methods | 6. Personal Spiritual Life |
| 2. Old Testament Survey | 7. Teaching Methods |
| 3. New Testament Survey | 8. Church Administration |
| 4. Preaching Biblical Messages | 9. Church History Survey |
| 5. Bible Doctrine Survey | 10. Missions/Evangelism/Discipleship |
The Translated Manuals are available in English, Hindi, Nepali, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marati, Assamese, Bengali, and Bangla. Translations are in process in Oriya, Meitei, Kuki, Hmar, Punjabi, Gujarati and Urdu. Translations are needed for:
- Malayalam (34 Million speakers) for India
- Dzonka (7 Million speakers) for Bhutan
- Mythili (3 million speakers) for Nepal
A new translation and first printing costs about $25,000, which will train the leaders of a whole new people group.
The Countries: Indian Leadership provides manuals, manual shipping and distribution, supervision, teacher training, and graduation certificates for:
| • India | • Bangladesh | • Sir Lanka | • Nepal |
| • Pakistan | • Bhutan | • Tibet |
The Results: Local pastors leading their churches, planting new churches, and evangelizing those around them in an effective, culturally appropriate way. India is in a strategic location to reach out to the surrounding South Asian nations with training for an effective church ministry.
Current Information:- The first seminary-level class in the history of Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan opened in January 2007 with 10 students.
- The Marati translation sponsored by Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Texas has just been finished. A first print run of 1,000 sets of 10 manuals is being distributed.
- The cost for providing an affordable, comprehensive Bible College curriculum in their own language is only $155 per student.
- 125 Schools use the manuals in India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
- About 600 graduates work as pastors, church planters, evangelists, and Bible college teachers in Nepal.
- 2200 students are in training in 10 languages in four countries in the Indian Subcontinent.
